I am running to bring representation and therefore better insight to the San Jose Unified School Board.

 

As an Afro-Latina woman from a low income background, I have lived experience that allows me to make informed decisions through empathy.

 

My background as a teacher with an Education Specialist Credential and a Master’s in Special Education gives me the experience of understanding what works and doesn’t work for the most underrepresented and needy students and families.

 

Lastly, I believe in a feedback cycle of communication in which I listen to the needs of my community, am receptive to what I hear, and hold myself accountable to my community on an ongoing basis.
